Gaco Oarlocks , 1/2" shaft

$33.00

I have and use these oarlocks, they work very well . Here is some info from the inventor’s web site, which has a lot more information:

Why it works so well:

Ordinary rowlocks develop friction and wear because of the uneven pressure where the pin rotates in the socket. In the GACO rowlock the pin does not rotate in the socket. Up and down movement of the oar is accommodated by the carefully angled shape. The two features above are employed in the design of rowlocks fitted to racing sculls now available for your rowboat.”

All sets contain 2 oarlocks, there are 3 different sets available. I had to set up 3 different pages for the 3 options, as I couldn’t figure out how to do it on 1 page.

I have in stock 3 different sets of Gaco Oarlocks.

First there is the “For Half Inch Sockets” set. Buy this set if you have or want to use standard US bronze sockets, which are all bored for 1/2” oarlock shafts.

Second there is the “Contains Four Sockets” set. Order this one if you want to use the cast Nylon (Delrin, I believe) sockets , which do not need the adapter sleeves ,

Third there is the “Contains Four Sockets, Retaining Pins Attatched”. This set has a small hairpin retaining pin attached with a length of twine. I don’t use these, as the oarlock is attached to the oar, and you would have to insert and remove the pin whenever you want to remove the oars from the boat. Without the pins, you can just pop the oars and oarlocks out of the sockets, like when you are approaching a dock.
