Nutshell Pram for Sale!

I have at my shop a 7’9” Nutshell pram, designed by Joel White. I built this boat from a kit in 1986, it has been stored inside and never used! All wood is in excellent condition, needs paint. It is the sailing version, so it includes daggerboard and trunk, trunk cap(very important when rowing…), rudder and tiller, mast, boom, yard, tanbark sail. Sail was built by Center Harbor Sails, Brooklin, ME, has 2 small holes easily patched, and has a yellow pennant.
Included are the original plans. Two bronze oarlock sockets, no oarlocks or oars. Bronze rudder fittings. Also missing is the running rigging- no sheet, halyard, blocks. A new kit to build this boat is $2,990.00 plus $300.00-600 shipping. The sail is not included in the kit, a new sail is $255.00 plus shipping. So the asking price is a true bargain.

Price - $2,800.00- end of summer sale - 10% off!!-$2,520.00

Bonus find!

Included with the pram is a pair of shop made oars. These are 61/2’ Pete Culler style spoon blade oars, Sitka Spruce, varnished and leathered, red accents on the tips. They look new, never used.

18’ SSS, built 1994. Restored this year, structural work done by Old Wharf Dory Co.

I built this boat to the original plans . It has been restored, with a new/used engine, new steering and controls, new console, fuel tank, Bimini top. I replaced the aft 2/3 of the port sheer strake, rebuilt 2 port frames, installed new white oak rub rails and inwales.. Here is the original info on this boat , slightly edited to reflect a few changes -

18’ Sea Skiff- Length is 17’1”, beam 5’7”, draft of only 5”. ( Actual lengths of the boats are less than the named length because Simmons used the length of the uncut plywood planks as the designation for each boat.) This boat weighs about 500 lbs, a 30 HP motor will produce speeds of about 25 MPH with a light load. 40 HP is the maximum recommended. Bottom is 3/8” marine plywood, sealed with epoxy inside and out. 3/8” marine ply is used for the bottom, while 1/4” Okoume marine ply is used for the lapstrake sides. Transom and motor well, 3/4” Sapelli marine ply. All joints glued with epoxy or bedded with Sikaflex marine sealants, as appropriate. Fastenings are silicon bronze, copper, or stainless steel. Rails, white oak. Finish is marine enamel outside and inside. Rails are oiled. Transom is varnished. Hardware included - one 8”bow cleat, two 6 “ stern cleats, one trailer eye.

The motor is a 20 HP Tohatsu.
